Duck Creek Update

The book signing at Duck Creek Days went better than expected – was filled with new friends, homemade jams and salsa and lots of fun and laughter. I was joined by my daughter and two grandsons and couldn’t have made it happen without them!

The feedback on the book has been amazing so far. Everyone seems to love the story and I’ve heard it’s a page-turner! After diving into the first few chapters, you just can’t put it down. It warms my heart to hear that my story that took so long to be told is loved by those experiencing it. Thank you!

A Little About Me

My new novel Last Leaf From A Wishing Tree has just been published by Black Rose Writing.

The story is about David Keane and Kathy McCarthy who begin a turbulent love affair as children and spend their entire life trying to hold on to it. After an abortion, Kathy feels she is evil, capable of destroying David. She becomes promiscuous in a failed attempt to keep David away.

After college David is assigned to report on racial unrest in Harlem. He takes with him several odd characters and Kathy who promptly begins an affair with a corrupt black Catholic priest who rules a section of Harlem. David is warned that if he tries to take Kathy away he will be killed. David isn’t even sure Kathy would come with him.

So why did it take me 69 years to write the novel? In a few words, I write slowly! But now that I’m living the dream and have my first book under my belt, I’m also working on my second novel.

This blog will be my story, my escape and my brainstorming all wrapped up into one and I’m asking you to join me on my journey. Enjoy!
